U.S. existing home sales hit 1-1/2 year low in March - ‎4‎/‎22‎/‎2014 - Reuter's business

I am so sick and tired of the news agencies trying to paint bad news in a good light. The housing industry is awful. Anyone trying to sell their home knows that the housing industry is awful. I drive by hundreds of homes for sale every day and none of them are selling.

I decided to compare the news for March 2014 with the news for March 2008. The 2008 newspeople comment that "we're probably heading into a recession." Now, we have supposedly been out of "the Great Recession" since July 2009 - and the recession officially began in 2007. Okay, so someone explain how there were 4.9 million homes sold annually in the middle of the recession, but now that were are out of it there are only 4.6 million homes being sold annually?

According to the news agencies, it's going to get better - it was the cold winter - Russia invaded Ukraine (well I haven't seen the last, but I'm sure it will be on next months report if we ever see it). But it's not getting better. Nothing they do is making it better, so why can't they just give us the facts and let us draw our own conclusions?
