Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks that NATO is doing more than just watching in Ukraine.
Once again I have to question how bad this would have escalated if we would have just let Russia keep Crimea and its naval base there. In Georgia, things cooled down quickly despite warnings that we needed to get involved or Russia would take over the whole country and return to is cold war glory.
The former Polish president is right to say that 'the world is at a dangerous point.' After all we vowed to support Ukraine and then moved troops into Poland to back it. I am sure the Polish people want us to stand by our vow, since they will probably be one of the first extra-Ukrainian targets if Russia decides to go militant because that is the closest place they can hit troublesome NATO troops. Again, are our troops (which is what NATO is primarily made up of) helping the situation or encouraging it to go into decline?
Things to make you think:
Without Russia, the US doesn't have a space program.
Without Russia and China, who will fund our debt?
Without Russia, how are we going to supply gas to all of Europe - and do we really want to pay the price at the pump of even attempting to do this?
